I’m sure at this point we’ve all trawled through Netflix a good few times and know its contents inside and out, so this is more for me.
This is a list of my favourite romcoms on Netflix!!
I am not in any way qualified to be reviewing any movies, I have a lot of biases against movies with actors that I don’t like despite their good performances. So this is merely an exercise for me and a reason for me to be to re-look through my favourite romcoms on Netflix.
When We First Met
I Found this movie hilarious, it’s cliche but well done. I love “trashy” feel good movies when i’m in a bad mood and this one really hit the nail on the head.
The Kissing Booth
This movie is mildly misogynistic and most movies on this list can be perceived as so. Misogyny is a trope that is often displayed in Romantic Comedies, this whole idea of Hero guy saves the girl and that you need a MALE partner to be fulfilled is misogynistic in itself.
But despite my inner conflict while watching this I enjoyed it. It’s easy to follow and watch and they have huge houses and It has Joey King before she was nominated for an Emmy for The Act.
To all the boys I’ve loved before
This movie is the absolute perfect Noah Centino movie, I know I’m a little old to be obsessing over guys from teenage movies buttttt I’m only 22 and he’s 23 in real life so it’s really not that weird!
Friends With Benefits
This movie is both very funny and emotional, it sets unprecedented standards for any friends with benefits type relationship. Any movie that does that is worth mentioning!
It’s always a nice surprise when watching this that Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Andy Samberg are in it!
He’s Just Not That Into You
I love this movie, it is easy to watch (much like all the other movies on the list) but also has a great cast. I love Justin Long and Drew Barrymore!
