TU Dublin SU Election Changes

Since our adoption of the amended TU Dublin Students’ Union Constitution on 21st February 2020, there have been changes to the City Campus College Officer Positions.

This is to reflect the move of Rathmines, Kevin Street & Cathal Brugha Street to the Grangegorman Campus in September 2020. This will affect somewhat how campaigns will be run and how students will vote at the polling stations. In effect, it means that students currently in Rathmines, Kevin Street & Cathal Brugha Street are voting for positions that won’t come into being until next academic year. It’s a bit confusing, but we’ve outlined the changes below and when voting, if you have any questions our polling clerks will be able to help you!

For Voting Students

  • Aungier Street: You will now be voting for the Aungier Street / BIMM College Officer OR Grangegorman East.
  • Bolton Street: You will be voting for the Bolton Street College Officer, no change there.
  • Cathal Brugha Street: You will now be voting for the Grangegorman Central College Officer.
  • Grangegorman: You will now be voting for the Grangegorman East College Officer.
  • Kevin Street Students: You will now be voting for the Grangegorman Central College Officer.
  • BIMM: You will now be voting for the Aungier Street / BIMM College Officer
  • Rathmines: You will now be voting for the Grangegorman East College Officer.

For Candidates

  • Candidates running for election for Grangegorman Central College Officer must attend hustings in Kevin Street Cathal Brugha Street.
  • Candidates running for election for Grangegorman East College Officer must attend hustings in Grangegorman & Rathmines Aungier Street.

Nominations for all positions are open until Tuesday, 10th March and if you are interested in running, check out all the revelent information on our sister website here.
